Sermon Date: October 22nd, 2017 Preacher: Ryan Fullerton Text: Romans 4:13-15 Series: Romans: Righteousness for the Unrighteous
1. One of the primary schemes of the Devil is to distort the truth of God’s word. Part of the Christian’s fight to eradicate these distortions is by constantly taking thoughts captive. Is this a regular ‘habit’ of yours? Share with one another the manner in which you take thoughts captive? What does this process look like (what you actually do)?
2. Connected to question 1 – A common reason we don’t have regular joy in the Christian life is because we’re intellectually lazy. We are often driven more by emotions than by rigorously preaching the truth of the gospel to ourselves. Share how you take your emotions captive and inform them with truth.
3. Christian, you will inherit the new heavens and the new earth. It is the Father’s pleasure to give you the kingdom! How does the certainty of this promise impact how we live? Is there an area of fear or anxiety in your life? How does the assurance of receiving all things affect this fear?
