Application Questions

1. While pastors are always to avoid being harsh, impatient, and unkind to church members, there are times when simply having hard conversations can be equated with being inconsiderate, not understanding, and harsh. Can you describe a time(s) in your life when you struggled to receive a hard word from a pastor but came to realize it was needed and helpful? How did you work through this process? What did repentance look like?

2. We heard this morning that one of the reasons pastors speak/teach God’s word is to equip the saints to be able to speak the truth to one another (including speaking it to pastors). Being a priesthood we are all able to serve one another by speaking the truth into one another’s lives. Can you describe ways you have been/are being equipped to do this? Give specific examples from God’s word of how you’ve learned/learning to speak the truth in love to your brothers and sisters.
