Kingdom & Career Cohorts
Equipping career professionals within their workplace to glorify God, love their neighbor, and advance the Kingdom.
Too often, Christians fall into the trap of thinking that “ministry” is only for leaders in the church. In fact, the Bible tells us that ministry is the calling of every follower of Jesus (Ephesians 4:12) and the leaders in the church are to equip every saint for the purpose of ministry. No matter where your paycheck comes from or what you do for a living, you are a minister of the Gospel if you are a follower of Jesus!
As an ongoing collective of brothers and sisters, Cohort participants share a desire to have Scripture-shaped conversation about real life career contexts. Cohorts provide practical tools and strategies that emerge from drilling down into the situational details of workplace faithfulness and gospel witness in everyday life. Participants will glorify God by receiving Biblical content that will help shape an understanding of work and vocation. Participants will also glorify God by applying that content in their workplace as neighbor love. Lastly, participants will glorify God as they increasingly understand and take advantage of the numerous opportunities for strategic Kingdom-advancing impact that their workplace and career provide.
The Cohorts follow a format that includes weekly gatherings from 6:00-7:30 am on Thursday mornings at the Immanuel building. During that time, the cohorts learn from the Bible and also hear from each other about the current challenges taking placing in workplaces all over the city. For example, have you ever wrestled with how the Gospel shapes your responsibility to fire an employee or conduct an annual review? What about financial analysis to the glory of God? Have you thought about engineering excellence at it relates to the Image of God? Designed to equip career professionals to recognize their identity as image bearers of God and ministers of the Gospel (Eph. 4:12), Cohorts participants are better prepared to glorify God by increasing in workplace excellence, loving their neighbor, and sharing the gospel.
