Songs & Hymns // Pastor Ward Young
Sermon // Pastor Ryan Fullerton
When churches memorize Scripture together, the members deepen their dependency upon God’s Word, grow in Word-centered friendships, enrich their prayers for one another, and build unity that is essential to the body of Christ (Ephesians 4:13–16, Colossians 3:14). This is why, with the aid of Fighter Verses, a ministry of Truth:78, Immanuel is seeking to memorize Scripture together throughout 2023. The weekly memory verse is shared in the bulletin, the Immanuel Connect, and implemented into the Sunday School hour, with helpful resources available here, in the Immanuel app, and also in the bookstore (coming soon). May the Word of Christ dwell in us richly during 2023, that we may teach and admonish one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in our hearts to God (Col. 3:16).

At our upcoming member's meeting on August 23rd, we will have the joy of voting on two elder candidates to serve our Immanuel family. Therefore, we ask that you listen through their testimonies beforehand as you prepare to vote. Those testimonies can be accessed at immanuelky.org/testimonies or on the Immanuel app (under the "More" tab). Until then (and even afterward), be praying for these candidates and their families.
Elder Nominations
We are excited to announce an opening for an Immanuel College Collective Director.
This fundraised position (with some budgeted funds available immediately) partners closely with our lead pastor to direct the Immanuel College Collective in her mission to “help students find Jesus wherever they are and follow Jesus in the context of the local church.”
The right candidate will have a strong desire to lead evangelism and discipleship efforts on our two neighboring campuses. This desire will be paired with a commitment to see students discipled in the context of the local church.
If that sounds like you, please apply! Please note that you must be an Immanuel member to qualify for this position. Applications are open effective immediately.
Please contact office@immanuelky.org with any questions.

Immanuel’s Pastoral Apprenticeship is a three-year program designed to raise up men from within the church to strengthen our church, as well as, to train men to be sent out to churches in America and the nations. We want to entrust the gospel message to faithful men who will be able to teach others also (2 Tim. 2:2). The program includes biblical and theological study in a classroom setting, as well as, opportunities to observe and participate in practical and pastoral ministry. We want to see men grow in knowledge, character, and experience, so we structure our efforts to address all of these areas.
The link to apply is now live on the Immanuel website until August 25th. If you are a man and a member of Immanuel pursuing the pastorate or desiring to grow in faithful leadership within the local church, we eagerly invite you to apply.
Immanuel Women // Join Dallas Leitner for a 6-week study through the book Unmet Expectations by Lisa Hughes. This study will take place on Tuesdays, 7:30p–9:00p, Aug. 1st–Sep. 5th, at Immanuel. Email Dallas for more info or sign up here.
IY Families // You asked for another round, so here you go! On Friday, July 28th, 6:00–8:00p at Warren Walker Park in Douglass Hills, we're having another family picnic! Last month was such a sweet time as many of our IY families—both new and veteran—joined us. This is an excellent opportunity to meet and enjoy time with other IY families, as well as, our IY leaders. Bring your own picnic dinner, lawn chairs, blankets, yard games, and volleyball skills. See you then!
IY Students // Save the date for our annual Immanuel Youth fall camping trip, Sep. 29th–Oct. 1st! We will be carpooling to Country Lake Christian Retreat in Underwood, IN (approx. 30–45 mins. from the church) around 4:00p on Friday evening and roll back up on Sunday morning in time for the main service (though probably quite smelly).
All 6th–12th-grade IY students are welcome, though discern as a family if your student can steward the opportunity responsibly. Registration opens soon, so stay tuned for more details. Until then, save the date!
The Lord provides for the needs of his people and has appointed deacons in the church to help administer this provision so that there would not be a needy person among us at Immanuel. If you are aware of a need that the Lord might meet through the care of our deacons, please make our deacons aware of it through our Mercy Needs Form.
Thank you so much for your continued worship of our great God through your faithful giving. When we exclusively moved to mailed checks and online giving, you responded. Because of your sacrificial giving, we have been able to continue fully supporting our missionaries, our ministries, and our staff.
We are pleased to share that, not only can you give online, but you can now give in person once again! Giving boxes are located near the sanctuary exits.
Want a simple resource to help stay connected at Immanuel? Download the new Immanuel app here. While still currently a work in progress, expect to see future resources coming to the app that will integrate with Breeze to better serve our church body.
As we study our community we are seeking to identify the burdens, needs, and desires of our neighbors. The key to serving our community is to locate all available church assets and begin connecting them to these burdens and needs. As a church, God has equipped us with many gifts, talents, and resources to be used to serve one another, as well as, those around us. So, would you share the ways God has gifted you to serve? We would love to know! Please take a few minutes to fill out this gifts assessment form.
We are grateful to offer a nursing mothers' room located off the balcony on the 2nd floor. Furthermore, a cry room is available in the fellowship hall. Both locations offer the service streamed. For directions, view our building map by clicking the desired room above.
